The Toshiba Radius 15 is a relatively thin device for a 15.6-inch laptop measuring 0.79-inches. Surprisingly though last year's model was actually even skinnier, measuring 0.75mm in thickness. Even more shockingly the new Radius 15 weighs in at significant 4.96 pounds, which actually happens to be heavier than the 4.8 pound model from last year.Featuring a mammoth 15-6-inch, 1920x1080 display ladegerät acer a700, it’s a big boy. Needless to say, the screen is touch-sensitive, so you can prod and swipe away to your heart’s content. It’s nice to use too, delivering a smartphone-like touch experience. During our short time with it, taps always registered in precisely the right place, which sounds elementary but isn’t always the case with touchscreen adp 120zb bb laptops. The key feature here, of course, is the fully rotating hinge. The novelty of the idea has worn off, but credit is due for its build quality as it does a fine job of holding the screen in place regardless of how far it's been swivelled. Our favourite configuration for touchscreen use is having the keyboard flipped upside-down so that it acts as a stand, with the screen at an adjustable angle. There is a slight bit of wobbling when jabbing the screen too hard, although not to a ruinous degree.
The new Radius 15 comes sporting an aluminum frame that wraps over both its lid and keyboard deck. The new styling also includes a more angular look compared to the 2014 model's rounded corners. In a way, every redesigned line makes the new Radius 15 lenovo z510 battery sharper and more streamlined. In terms of sharpness, the Radius’ screen is no match for the top-end Dell XPS 13 2015, which packs an incredible 3200x1800 panel. It has a pixel density of 141ppi, placing it a couple of tiers below the highest-end machines on the market, but first impressions are nevertheless positive.Colours appear punchy and vibrant, though it’s important to once again mention that we were in a dimly lit room at the time. We’ll bring you a more considered verdict when we drag the Radius into our offices. We also found that the quality of the keyboard galaxy tab 2 ladegerät tempted us away from any touchscreen-based setup. The keys don't have much travel but are perfectly spaced, and their glossy texture stands out in a market where the tactile ‘feel' of a keyboard is rarely at the forefront of manufacturers' minds. Unlike the ThinkPad Yoga 12, however, the keys don't physically lock when using one of the tablet/touchscreen configurations. They can still depress, but won't actually input anything.
From the side, the 2015 model is straighter from front to back. As for how it feels to use the laptop, the trackpad is forgettable but functional. The keyboard medion akoya s6214t netzteil, however, is one of the springiest I've ever used, with keys that pop back up right as soon as you lift your fingers off. It's not a knock and I personally like the different feel, but it's a quirk that some other users may not like.We say "drag", because it’s disappointingly heavy, weighing a stonking 2.25kg. That's over twice as heavy as the new 12-inch MacBook. It's a real concern, especially if you plan on carrying your laptop to and from the office or university on a regular basis. It’s also a chunky 20.1mm thick.Less helpfully, the Satellite Radius 15's screen bose sounddock portable netzteil is about as reflective as a freshly polished mirror. Using it in direct sunlight or even under a bright bulb is out of the question, and turning up the brightness doesn't solve the problem in the slightest. It's hard to work when you can clearly see your own reflection staring back at you.The hinge is generous, allowing you to rotate the screen all the way around, though it also feels flimsy. In "audience" and, to borrow Lenovo’s term, "tent" modes, gentle taps of our finger on the touch display caused the Radius’ screen to wobble and tilt backwards. Not good.
Toshiba Radius 15 can be outfitted with a 4K screen, making it the first Ultra HD convertible laptop to run Windows 10 in the future. Long-winded accolades aside, Toshiba has equipped this machine with one heck of a screen that's super sharp with a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution (or 282 pixels per inch).During my short hands on time I was watched a looping video that began with a sooty battlefield, which showed off the display xps 12 netzteil wide contrast and ability to render distinct shades of grey. The video later shifted to a stone ruin at dusk to demonstrate the wide color gamut the screen can present from the most subdued blues to burning reds.the hinge is relatively normal looking, with no sign of that weird watch-strap effect Lenovo added to the Yoga Pro 3 hp compaq 15 h024sg netzteil. The Radius as a whole looks good, with its brushed aluminium finish and sharp corners, though it’s too bulky and plain to be considered stunning.
Windows will detect when the screen has been rotated, prompting the switch to Tablet mode or switching automatically, depending on the user's preferences. This feature alone greatly aids the Satellite Radius 15's 90w chicony a10 090p3a netzteil (figurative) flexibility, enabling it to be a more effective combination of laptop and tablet than the solely touch-focused Windows 8.1 could have.Toshiba claims that a partnership between DTS Sound plus exclusive Slipstreamport allows the speakers to produce a more precise, rich sound at max volume all without distortion.Toshiba dell xps 15 netzteil has slipped in a few of its own pre-installed applications and utilities, including a tech support wizard and an entire program dedicated to warranty information. These can be safely uninstalled and don't take up much space on the hard drive to begin with, but if apps are going to be pre-loaded they could at least be more useful. For instance, barring the 30-day trial of McAfee LiveSafe Internet Security that comes with Windows, the Satellite Radius 15 gt p5110 ladegerät has no extra security or enterprise-focused software.Under the hood the Radius 15 also has quite a bit going on including the ability to be customized with Intel Broadwell processors or AMD APUs. The laptop can also be upgraded to a maximum spec with a 750GB hard drive or a 512GB SSD, and 12GB or RAM.
The Satellite Radius 15's thoroughly mid-range Intel Core i5-5200U processor, a 2.2GHz dual-core chip, is paired with a more generous 8GB of RAM. These internals produced a Sunspider benchmark score of 318.2ms and a Kraken score of 1,785.6ms, with lower scores being better in both. The Toshiba's Full HD ladegerät medion akoya md 99410 screen is fantastic. It's nice and bright, with a measured maximum brightness level of 280cd/m2 and it also has a high colour-accuracy score; I measured this panel as able to cover 85% of the sRGB gamut. Colours are bright, vivid and punchy, while contrast levels of 971:1 and wide viewing angles mean the screen is great for viewing films and photos. The Satellite Radius 15's asus ac adapter adp 120rh b speakers, which don't sound brilliant at any volume and are easily eclipsed by those of smaller laptops such as the Acer R11. This is perhaps a little embarrassing, especially when you consider the overt Harman Kardon branding next to the fake speaker grille just below the screen. The one upshot is that the sound is at least consistent, with its output sounding the same no matter how you've folded and stood up the laptop.
Although it's a fair amount more expensive than its convertible rivals, it justifies the price with its impressive screen, great battery life and stylish chassis. You do pay more for the laptop's convertible nature and touchscreen adp 230eb t, and if you just need a laptop you're much better off buying a general-purpose model, which at this price will have significantly more power. If you'd like to take advantage of Windows 10's touchscreen capabilities and like to watch films on your laptop or use it in the kitchen, though, it's a good choice. For a more traditional laptop check out the Acer Aspire V3-574G. The Toshiba Satellite Radius 15 is asking students for a pretty penny when they just as easily buy a Chromebook adp 40ph bb for much less. Or even more recently there's been a string of excellent Windows machines for roughly the same price such as the Dell XPS 13 and Asus ZenBook UX305.The vast screen already causes practicality problems when using the Satellite Radius 15 as a tablet, and it seems to quickly sap the battery life as well. It averaged five hours and 37 minutes in our video loop burn tests, conducted at 50 percent screen brightness, never breaking the six hour mark in any individual test run. This is far short of a working day and you'll have to tether it to the mains during lunch at the very least. It's also a considerably shorter lifespan than the ThinkPad Yoga 12's, which we criticised for lasting just shy of eight hours.
If battery life isn't a huge concern - such as for those who stick to their desks, with only occasional meetings - the Satellite Radius 15's vibrant display, dependable multitasking performance and relatively affordable price give it the edge over many of its rotating medion akoya e6416 netzteil convertible rivals. But, what Radius 15 has over everyone else is a booming sound technique and plus the option of adding a simply gorgeous 4K screen to make it the ultimate streaming machine. If you can pull the scratch together and are looking to nab a 15.6-inch method for the extra screen real estate, the Radius 15 looks to be a perfect pick so far.At a very reasonable, the Toshiba Satellite Radius 15 stylus sony vaio duo 13 is a laptop to keep your eye on, particularly if you're after a large-screened computer. However, it faces fierce competition from the Asus Zenbook UX305. Build quality and battery life aren’t superb, but the hinge and touchscreen are excellent features. We'd sooner use something like the Asus Transformer Book Chi T300, which is just as powerful and flexible as the Satellite Radius 15 while being far more portable and practical as a touch device.
